Touched with Fire and a lot of success 5/5
In a world of music of the past few years, many bands have been reduced to playing droned noises and the waste excess of what they call 'Music', but what this band have succeeded in doing is creating something original and lively and not what you would expect to be based in Exeter. Within the rich sound of a crisp guitar and vocals that make this sound somewhat like a U2 record, from the anthemia opener 'Fade Away' and the infectious addictiveness of 'The Sound of Fear', a very joyous track which makes you just want to jump up
and down and dance with elements of Led Zepplin just oozing out. But this band manages to not be so serious, with a great titled track of 'Big Metal Chicken', which leaves me to ask where the hell the name of that song came from, let alone
the album and the magic of the four that has just enchanted me. But what listeners should expect is something that sounds faintly White Stripes and home made (in the good way), as that adds to the feel of the album collectively. A gleaming review from Bandassict.co.uk states that "These guys create not just songs but sonic landscapes". With that I fully agree, but only not landscapes,
but a kaleidoscope of sonic worlds within the space of 35 minutes.
