Watch out... - 4/5
Swiss metal band “Promethee” have gone and made a single “Sickness unto Death” that has the power to fry your brain, make it recover and keep doing so for about five minutes before the track ends. The technical aggression of Nils Haldi’s drumming and the near hardcore vocals from Joshua Orsi make this a very brutal noise-fest.
It starts fading in with deafening distorted guitars, before it all breaks out with the combined riffs of Ludovic Lacroix and Elric Doswald into a breakdown underlying Joshua’s vocals and a progressive chorus and the double bass drumming is chaotically mad but works with bassist Mathieu Tappolet, before the main breakdown erupts into carnage of speed and tight rhythm sections that work together beautifully.
This is definitely one track to keep an eye out for, and even if this is just the one track I now seriously want to hear the rest of what these guys have to offer.
