Songs From The Heart - 5/5
Daniel Schramroth, a singer/songwriter from the southwest emailed me to review 2 of his demo songs. I thought "Ah, why not, this should be good". I believe in that sentence alone, the word 'good' is an understatement.
Stripped back, acoustic, and home recorded, the original intention of this piece was to be one to send to publishers. And if they don't get blown away from what I've heard, I'm not sure what will. Starting from 'Cold Wind Blowing', Daniel makes good work of a soulful picking pattern and the added use of what sounds like violins and cellos which reminds me of the Goo Goo Dolls song 'Iris'. But this song is tinged with soul and indie, and you cannot help to listen to the beautiful acoustic and the sound of his voice, what makes you want to listen even more.
Track numero dos (number two for those who don't know spanish) is a dark, melodic and a seemingly country piece with an effective use of a slide and the low rumbling cello on "A broken violin". A truly emotive piece, with a vocal delivery reminiscent to The Levellers singer Mark Chadwick, something destined to blow you away. I have high hopes for a fine musician for Daniel if he claims what I hear are merely 'Demo Tracks".
